Intensives conducted by therapists specialized in child development.
Neurology At Tot Terapia, we offer an intensive treatment using the Melillo Method. During an intensive week, parents are present at the sessions and learn to apply the exercises at home, which reinforces the stimulation and development process.
These intensive treatments have proven to be highly effective in improving children's neurodevelopment, taking full advantage of the brain's neuroplasticity and opening new doors to a brighter future.
Dr. Robert Melillo, a functional neurologist, has developed the Melillo Method to address neurodevelopmental difficulties such as ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD, dyslexia and emotional regulation problems. His approach focuses on stimulating and balancing different areas of the brain using innovative tools based on the latest advances in neuroscience.
In an evaluation, primitive movement patterns, reflexes and differences in muscle tone in the body are observed. One side is compared to the other and posture and its influence on poor muscle tone is analyzed. Eye movements and much more are investigated. These elements influence proper brain regulation, and if left unaddressed, conventional therapy can be slow and expensive. As neuroscience advances, new ways to harness neuroplasticity for the benefit of children are emerging. Some of these innovations include Neurofeedback, Photobiomodulation Therapy (low-level laser), Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) and Interactive Metronome (IM). These therapies harness the brain's ability to change and improve its functioning.
The Melillo Method has demonstrated remarkable results. Children who participate in these therapies experience significant improvements in language, attention, motor coordination and learning ability. In addition, they are helped to be present and in a relaxed emotional state to learn. This methodology combines perfectly with conventional therapies and adapts to the individual needs of each child.
Two daily sessions of 1 hour and a half, Functional Neurology: Reaching a total of 9 sessions of Functional Neurology throughout the week. We will use advanced technologies, such as photobiomodulation laser therapy or electrical and vibratory stimulation, to specifically stimulate key brain areas. Other sessions with different disciplines may be added as needed:
Psychology: for a pre-intervention evaluation as a baseline observation of the evolution of the treatment (ADOS-2 and re-evaluation in 6 months). Also to address emotional and psychological aspects of parenting. Specific behavioral tools will be provided.
Neuro-kinesiology to test the structural part, the biochemical and the electromagnetic field and to be able to decide how to approach the sessions in the most effective way.
Occupational therapy to integrate primitive reflexes and work on sensory-motor aspects, increasing strength and muscle tone.
Speech therapy: In both verbal and non-verbal children to include articulation exercises, receptive and expressive language therapy, alternative and augmentative communication techniques, and swallowing therapy.
Physiotherapy: To work on posture, mobility, balance, coordination and gait.
The combination of these approaches offers a comprehensive and personalized intervention, backed by state-of-the-art technology and the expertise of our team, in order to maximize the potential and quality of life of each family.

Photobiomodulation laser therapy, also known as low level laser therapy (LLLT), is a treatment approach that uses low level laser light to modulate biological processes at the cellular level. In the context of functional neurology, photobiomodulation laser therapy is incorporated to stimulate specific areas of the brain, as laser light has positive activating effects on brain function and neuronal plasticity.

ELECTRICAL STIMULATION
Electrical stimulation, such as transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS), is used to provide tactile stimulation (tingling) to specific areas of the body, which will send tactile signals that are transmitted along nerve pathways to the specific brain areas we want to activate. We also use transcortical stimulation, to influence areas directly in the brain.

Vibration provides unique sensory stimulation that can activate tactile and proprioceptive receptors in the skin and muscles, which is very beneficial for improving body awareness and sensory perception. In addition, vibratory stimulation influences muscle tone, helping to modulate muscle activity and correct imbalances in muscle function. Finally, vibration applied to specific areas of the body has effects on the activation of related brain areas that we intend to activate.
Tot Terapia is strategically located in the Mirasol Shopping Center, an open center that offers not only our specialized therapeutic service, but also a comfortable and convenient environment for families. The shopping center has a variety of cafes, restaurants and grocery stores, providing options for everyday needs.
In the center itself, Tot Terapia has designed a cozy space to welcome families. The reception area has a comfortable sofa and a play area where children can have fun while parents relax. In addition, an area has been created with a table and a small kitchenette equipped with a microwave so that families can enjoy meals and snacks during their visit.
Tot Terapia has toilets with baby changing facilities, ensuring an environment adapted to the needs of the little ones. The center is in a privileged location, opposite a children's playground, providing additional space for play. In terms of accessibility, Tot Terapia is exceptionally well connected. Just 100 meters away is the Mirasol stop of Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat, which connects with Barcelona in just 20 minutes.

For those who prefer to arrive by car, the shopping center offers free parking, as well as a free parking lot.
Our son started functional neurology exercises a few months ago. They are simple but thoroughly programmed exercises that are helping him to significantly improve his emotional regulation and, as a result, his overall well-being and that of the whole family."

A deep therapeutic boost in just one week
Our intensive program is designed to accelerate and enhance the neurological, emotional and motor development of children with neurodevelopmental difficulties. Through structured and highly personalized sessions, based on Functional Neurology and the Melillo Method, we seek to create a profound impact in a short period of time, harnessing the power of neuroplasticity.

Parenting is a wonderful experience, but sometimes it takes a superhuman or superheroic effort.
This course, aimed at parents of children and young people, is designed by the psychologists and the founder of the centre and is an online version of an existing face-to-face course with proven success.
Each of the episodes in which it is divided, will serve as a guide to, step by step, help you create the family you want to have, without judging, as we know that we all struggle and try to do the best for our children.
We have decided to share this valuable content after finding that children's behaviour improves considerably when the work is carried out together with parents.
Some of the topics we will deal with are: parenting styles, limits, emotional communication and conflict management. We will talk about the importance of knowing oneself and knowing our children's needs and differentiating them from our own.
We will discover how to build a healthy and secure bond that will help us to better manage difficult situations, as well as to fully enjoy and live the wonderful, but sometimes exasperating, experience of being parents.
